Victim Offender Conferences
This practice is similar to the Community Conference. However, it is
limited to the people most directly impacted by the harm, that is the
person(s) who caused the harm and the person(s) who was(were) harmed.
As with the Community Conference, this practice may be used in a variety of situations. While apologies may be an outcome, an agreement for repairing the harm is the stated goal of this practice. All participants have a voice in the agreement. Research has demonstrated that agreements reached in this way are far more likely to be fulfilled than mandates dictated to the person who committed the harm.
